March 2Winter Challenge Quilt

Hexies, Diamonds, & Jewels — Oh, My! Challenge Quilts: Terrie Welch hosts the Winter Challenge. Quilt must include at least one hexi, diamond, and jewel block. Any embellishment is allowed. Must create a quilt – 3 layers of fiber or fabric connected with thread. Garments, purses & tote bags are not eligible. Your quilt must have a maximum perimeter of 144″.

7:00 pm – Meeting: Learn what’s new in the publishing world with book reviews by PPQG Librarian Brenda Barnhart and other guild members.

July 15 & July 22  Let’s Make a Tuffet!

Workshop: Lets Make a Tuffet, Online Instructor: Sharyn Cole, originator of the tuffet craze.  Each workshop participant purchases Sharyn’s Class from http://www.iquilt.com .  Pattern and tuffet kit may be ordered form iQuilt (AQS) or from Tuffet Source.  No additional fees, but please sign up for the workshops.  We will watch the class at home, then meet on two Saturdays to sew the tuffet cover and assemble the tuffet. 9 am; First Baptist Church.

August 3 – Antique Quilt Extravaganza

7:00 pm – Meeting: Members bring their antique quilts for a Show and Tell to end all Show and Tells! Bring whatever quilts you think other members will enjoy.

September 7 – Fall Kick-off and Quilt Show planning

7:00 pm – Meeting: Welcome new Officers, adopt the budget, and pay dues for 2016-2017.  Quilt show chairs Lee Linebarger and Allison Holdaway will finalize plan for the Quilt Show in October.

September 21, 22, 23 – Sleep-at-Home Retreat

First Baptist Church. Three days of peace, love, and sewing. Sew all day and sleep at home.

October 5 – Show Judge presentation and Quilt Check-in 

7:00 pm – Meeting: Check in your quits at the regular meeting at the First Presbyterian Church.  The Quilt show judge will present the program.

October 7 – Quilt Show Judging and Set-up

Judging at First Presbyterian Church.

Show set-up will be after 3:30 pm at Rolla Middle School.

October 7 and 8 – Ozark Festival of Quilts Show 

Saturday 9 am – 4 pm.  Sunday Noon – 4 pm.  Rolla Middle School. Admission $5. More than 200 quilts on display, plus vendors, Silent Auction, Boutique, and Vintage Market.

November 2 – The Life of Quilts of Ida Stover Eisenhower

7:00 pm – Meeting: The Life of Quilt of Ida Stover Eisenhower. The mother of Dwight Eisenhower, 34th President of the United States, was a quilter! Carol and Ron Elmore of Manhattan KS, will present a slide show of Ida’s quilts and the Eisenhower family.  Carol also displays miniature replicas of two of Ida’s quilts.  This program has wide general appeal; bring a guest!

November 3 – Workshop – Making Miniature Quilts

In this 3-hour hand-piecing workshop, Carol Elmore will teach techniques for making a miniature quit top and blending reproduction and vintage fabrics.  You may bring fabrics or buy a kit of vintage pieces.  Fee: $20 plus kit fee.  9 am, First Baptist Church.

November 10, 11, & 12 – Fall Retreat

December 7 – Christmas party
