In general, our meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at the First Presbyterian Church 919 E. 10th Street Rolla, MO 65401. The doors open at 6 p.m., and members may socialize, check out books from our library, and sign up for workshops. The business meeting starts at 6:30 and a program follows. The meetings conclude with a quilt Show-and-Tell session. Guests and visitors are always welcome. Check out our upcoming meeting information, as well as their program descriptions here.
Membership in the guild is open to anyone interested in quilts and quilting. Dues are just $10 per year. Our programs and workshops are designed for quilters of all skill levels. We hold at least one workshop each year for brand-new quilters. Questions about becoming a member? Please contact Judy Fox, head of our membership committee.
Special events include the Ozark Festival of Quilts, our biannual quilt show (odd years), and a small quilt show at the Rolla Public Library in March, which is National Quilt Month. Our members make a “chance quilt” every two years, which is displayed and raffled at our quilt show. The guild issues a “Winter Challenge” each year; members are encouraged to join in and make a small quilt that meets the parameters of the challenge.
Members also are encouraged to form special interest groups, such as a miniatures group or a modern quilt group. “Sit-and-Sew” is an ongoing group that meets on Wednesday mornings.
Second Tuesday Group
Our “Second Tuesday” group meets on the second Tuesday afternoon of each month.
The guild offers several quilt retreats each year. Members meet at a nearby location for three days of non-stop sewing. Check out information about the retreats here.
Piece and Plenty also does various community service projects. Check some of them out here!
